About Arturo Fuente Cigars

The Spanish-American War would force Arturo Fuente, Sr to flee Cuba and establish himself in Florida. By 1912 he had a company with his name on it and a loyal customer base. That said, it was a small business which sold a few thousand high quality sticks a year. 1958 would see the Arturo, Sr’s company handed down to his son, Carlos Fuente. Carlos had a vision to grow the company. Over his lifetime Fuente would become one of the largest, successful and recognized companies in the industry. Sadly, Carlos passed away on August 5, 2016 at the age of 81. What started as a small company with a loyal following, grew into a 30 million cigar a year giant while improving quality every step of the way.

Dr. Gaby Kafie was born into the rich tradition of cigars in Honduras. He would later move to the United States and attend medical school and eventually reach his goal of practicing sports medicine. The good doctor practiced for nearly 10 years before getting the unfortunate news that he had developed a very rare ocular disease and could no longer practice medicine. It was at this time he decided to focus on his other passions in life, cigars!
Kafie Cigars came to fruition in 2013 and his passion for tobacco can be tasted in every puff.

About La Palina Cigars

Sam Paley emigrated to the United States from Ukraine in the late 1800s. He soon found he had a love for tobacco and began rolling and blending cigars in Chicago. In 1896 Sam would open a cigar shop and produce a product he called La Palina. His son, William would also become interested in cigars, and even hosted a radio show called “The La Palina Hour”. William carved out a bit of success, and while he loved cigars, he saw an opportunity in radio. What started as five radio stations would soon become the Columbia Broadcasting Company…you may know it as CBS! However, once his father retired from the cigar business, so did his cigar company. As it turns out, William would also have a son, Bill Paley. Bill also become very interested in cigars and would use his family’s fortune to resurrect his father’s cigar brand!
